The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Looks like I forgot to introduce myself :)

My name's Henry Hoffman. I've been working as a professional games developer/designer for a couple of years now, snagging a few awards in the process. You can see some of my work here: http://www.henryhoffman.com/

Tired of reinventing the wheel, I looked for an HTML5 game engine that let me focus on gameplay rather than the same-old foundations. Looks like I found it.

My first commercial Construct 2 game is called Mortar Melon, and should be hitting Windows 8 before Christmas.

  • Hello, world. I'm Roger, but you can call me RJ if you want. (it's shorter to write, and as we all know, programmers are absurdly lazy. Hehe.) I've been interested in game making for nearly thirty years, but so far it's beeen mostly small stuff like making maps in my favorite games, some adventure-making in some games and, of coures, messing around in Game Maker. But now that I've found Construct2, I think I've finally found what I've been looking for. It's pretty nice, and easy to use, yet powerful. That's important. Most easy to use stuff are crap, to say the least. :) But anyway, enough about me. Hi, nice to meet you, looking forward to getting to know you.

  • Welcome to all new comers, glad to see you aboard.

  • hello everyone i love games and software and game creating software

  • oh I should have done this a month ago.

I'm Jayce. I feel old. I started back on the Color Computer 1 and 3; ok more 3 than 1. A computer similar to the old Commodor 64. I've loved games ever since I was taken into my first arcade when I was a young child. Since then I live, eat, breath, think and dream games. I married games as my wife is a gamer.

I've done Basic/qBasic, C/C++, .... etc. and decided i'm just tired of reinventing the wheel. So now I'm with C2 and Scirra. I haven't gotten a game to a playable state in years. Unless of course i count my online multiplayer? ocarina in Java. but since then nothing else :P Making a game by code is tiring. I tend to get more complicated ideas then burn out before getting anything playable :P So i'm hoping with C2 that will all change.

I'm a big believer that tablet like portable computers are the future and desktop's are going to primarily for the enthusiast and deveopers. Ok this is a multi decade prediction, but I want to be ready :P

Anyways glad to meet many of you on the forums.

  • Hi,

  • Hey Everyone, just wanted to Introduce myself.

    As my profile says:

iOs dev since Apple's AppStore opened.

Web & backend systems dev for 10+ years before that.

Comic book colorist for Image & DC for 5+ years before that.

So basically I'm pretty comfortable creating both art and code.

I'm very impressed with Construct 2, so I have been learning it. I find it a lot of fun to use.

So, it's nice to be part of this community.

Hey guys, i just upload my new game, is waiting for the final okay or something like this, so i resolved to introduce myself.

Well, my name is gentleman ghoust... okay, but you can call me like this, i'm a web and android developer, a design student and i like games to much to just play.

My dream is turn myself a milionaire doing what i love, my cat's name is aurelio and my native language is portuguese, so maybe my english is terrible and limited.

So, it's good being here with all of you.</font>

  • Hey everyone, glad to be here. Started off with Atari and Commodore 64 as some others of you did. I currently earn my keep by doing web development, mostly php/mysql/jquery, etc.

Messed around with a lot of game engines and recently found Construct2 - and wow... I have also been using Gamemaker Studio, and even though you can write straight code in that, I have found that I can achieve same or better results faster with Construct's non-code approach. Cool stuff. Looking forward to learning!

    Mark
