I was just reading about flash drives vs external hard drives, & the article was saying flash drives have a limit on the number of write/rewrite cycles.
Should I move my installation from a flash drive to an external HD?

Looks like it's safe to bet on them failing after about 3 years. I've got C2 installed on a dedicated flash drive with a TON of game projects....it will will probably fail within 2 years, the way I constantly tweak my games.

Wait....what? Can you install C2 to the cloud??
The projecrs can be on the cloud, and you can always grab a release of C2 via the website or the torrent, and your license should be accesible from the scirra website too.
