Best car suspension with spring effect and very cool terrain generation.
  • Finding the dogs were easy to me... Oo

Nothing that you said make Cave Story a worst game, for me you just don't like it very much and can't understand why so many people can like it so much.

For me Tales of Arusia is the best indie game, oh, i forgot i made it XD

I'm translating it, maybe until january is finished.

  • You are not very good at reading my posts, because nothing you mentioned appears in my post. I will give you the opportunity to read again, though.

"Man I'm so glad I can carry one dog at a time! You mean I have to go all the way to the end of the level at the warehouse, get the dog, and walk allllll the way back to jenka's house, so I can NOT get the key but still go alll the way back to the warehouse!?!? Man that is so FUN!"

Also, slogging through that tedious, unskippable chatlog between Kazuma and Sue at the beginning is SUPER FUN after the sixth or so time. >.>

  • Last decent indie game I've enjoyed playing is an immersive brick-breaking game called Shatter.

  • > Doom? An indie? Umm...huh? <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Yes. And for that matter Rise of the Triad, by Apogee, made with the Wolfenstein engine, is also a blast. And free if I recall correctly.

iD still labels itself as an independent developer, so why not include them in the list of boring games like Knytt? Makes the competition kind of easy, lol, but hey why not? "Indie games" like Flower have dozens and dozens of people listed in their credits (a big fat lol) so a game made a small handful of programmers should count, right?

Ahhhh Rise of the Triad was an amazing game, I remember playing that loads when I was a kid. Spear of Destiny and Wolfenstein were cool, the old Duke Nukem sidescrollers were fun too :D

  • Thanks for the suggestions guys! Argh, all these games sound awesome...but there's no time!!! It's a sad thing: if you want to make your own game, your probably not going to be playing too many others until you're done. <img src="smileys/smiley35.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Uh.... Minecraft?

  • Daniel Remar's Iji.

One of the best games I've ever played. End of story.

Granted, no one really knows about it, but who cares?

  • hm, that looks pretty cool; I'll have to check it out. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous - that's for sure.

  • Iji is quite possible the best Game Maker game of all time. The creator took years to finish it. Would probably have taken much less time if done with Construct :D

  • I love seeing polished, fun, and creative games coming forth from game-maker - whereas most people praise the garbage that is I Wanna Be The Guy (which should be a textbook case of bad-game-design, but everyone just fawns over it LOLZHARDESTGAMEEVARZZZZZ), and Spelunky, which is also trash for its boring randomly-generated levels that suck all the fun out of playing a platformer.

  • I've played Limbo recenlty which i've got with latest humble indie bundle. I must say it's amasing and one of best indie games i've played.

  • Runescape. Wake Up The Box (1,2 and 3). OK, I admit it: I'm a Monty Python and Benny Hill fan so Wake Up The Box is a natural for me. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Anytime I hear the word 'box' and 'monty python' in close proximity, I can't help but remember this skit:

    Ahh, good times.

On topic, thanks for the extra suggestions everybody; iji sounds really interesting, and I finally got a chance to play a bit of knytt last week and was really impressed; I love the artwork, and the idea of being able to climb any surface really changes how you relate to the environment vs. a standard platformer.

That minecraft video just about had me laughing tears...
