Can i use this sprite sheet?

I found this sprite sheet that i would like to use in my game, but i am not sure if i may use it :-(

On the image there is written that it's copyrighted by Playmore something.

This type of question occurs frequently and there are numerous threads with large discussions on this topic, but it boils down to a few salient points:

1. As far as I'm aware, no one on here is a lawyer, and therefore cannot give adequate legal advise.

2. If you decide to use graphics that are not your own, then YOU must take responsibility for that action, and any subsequent litigation that could occur because of your actions is then entirely on your shoulders.

3. Any answer you get here will generally be purely speculative and mostly subjective.

4. It will ALWAYS be more preferable to create or 'buy-in' any graphics that you intend to use, especially in a commercial venture.

In summary, the choice is yours.

It's copyrighted so no, you can't use it for anything you release. You could always try to send Playmore a mail asking for permission, but it's ripped from a commercial game so I doubt they'll let you.

Just so it's said; you should *always* ask permission to use stuff that isn't yours. Unless the creator states explicitly that people can use it freely.

It definitely looks like it's copyrighted, so no, you cannot use it without permission of the copyright owner.

i think you can use it but you have to mention that to him , this case only work if he didn't answered you. and i think he has the permission to take them off if he found that but you can replace them in anytime!! hope someone post some links help us on these stuffs :P

You're asking a big game company if it's OK to use their work ripped from their game for you to make money?

The person who ripped mentioned coloring them by himself, but it's still property of SNK Playmore and I don't think they like if you use it for commercial purposes without any profit for them.

The game will be free :), and youre right, i dont think they will give me the rights, but i cant find other sprites that matches the game xD

hmmm i really don't know , if i ever found this i just would put their names on credit and if they need some of the money that i got from it ill give some like 30% this if i can't contact them! am i right about this??

Sorry nope. Whichever company owns the intellectual property rights will likely slap you with a cease-and-desist if they find out. The internet is full of remakes and other freeware projects getting shot down this way. Game companies are concerned with protecting their IP's, not in getting a cut of your profits. That's peanuts to them anyway.

I dont think they answer, lol. I need to get another sprite. Someone knows where i can find royalty free sprites ? i have looked on OpenGameArt. The character should be a soldier.

I know this sheet doesnt look like a soldier, but its a zombie game, so he is nice with the mask :D but i want a normal soldier more - and i just can't find
