sound software ?

Hi guys, which software are U using to compose ur game music ( not the sound fx ..I mean more the background sound playing during the game ) ? Any free stuff out there ?

Logic pro for orchestrals and Ableton live for more sound design and mixing.

However these are just frameworks, I have lots of sounds from AAA libraries.

Keep in mind that's it's a whole work and you will probably do shit over the first 3 years.

At your level you can find fruity loops somewhere and try it.

There is also reaper that is really cheap.

Also you can try lmms http://lmms.sourceforge.net/home.php which is like flstudio and free. You can also import some of the soundbanks made for flstudio into it

Studio One has a free version. I haven't tried it but apparently it's pretty full-featured for an entry-level DAW https://shop.presonus.com/products/studio-one-prods/Studio-One-Free I use a combination of Renoise and Reaper, both of which are reasonably priced but have a significant learning curve.

Two great beginner tools which you can try are Mulab Free and Podium Free. Both are completely free and comparable in quality with commercial products like Ableton Live, Cubase, etc.

There is another software called DUb turbo, though the web version crashes a lot.

Yeah Mulab is great, I have the full version and the Mux vst plugin that I use inside Reaper. MUlab is better at MIDI than audio though, depending on your needs the free version may be all you need. If you have $60 to spend, Reaper is the most powerful DAW for your dollar, though not the easiest to use for a beginner:

Another free option to consider is Studio One free....not that I have tried it, as I have the full version but prefer Reaper.
