  • This is a great blog post, talking about whats HTML5, its technologies and all you need to know about it. It even mentions Construct 2 :D

  • Thanks for sharing that link, 7Soul - it's a very useful overview of the HTML5 development scene as it currently stands (or rather, accelerates). Good that he mentions the developing Gamepad API - that will be a real step up. His survey of the (depressingly large and varied) range of target platforms is particularly good.

I'm not sure, though, that I'd go along with his conclusion that "if you are only worried about the Desktop market ... you should probably question the use of HTML5 in the first place and still consider Flash". In the first place, I think that no game developer now should be "only worried about the Desktop market", and secondly, I think that even there, the HTML5/Flash balance is changing so rapidly that a Flash-only developer risks getting left behind in the dust.

  • Good find, thanks

    Also agreed with

I don't have the same point of view as the author about the desktop gaming, as as far as I've tested it, games made with C2 execute well on my CPU and feel stable (more than handcoded ones I've tried so far indeed).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • In the above article I read that:

"Native Client (NaCl for short) is a Chrome specific technology that allows developers to code in C/C++ and produce a .nexe file, a compiled native module. ... Being able to port C/C++ code makes it an interesting option for game developers working in that area already."

I'm not a developer and don't understand how all this works, but are there any plans to make C2 available in the chrome store? Is this even possible? Selfishly, I can think of a lot of reasons to do it (ie. I could purchase and use C2 on my Mac) but maybe I'm missing something.
