Welcome! I-Spy (Hidden objects) is an educational puzzle that is more than just seek-and-find activities.
  • Hi, I've had a quick look and not found the same topic, so apologies if this has already been suggested.

I personally would benefit from grouping objects together, so then I can move whole sections rather than individually. I think it would also be useful if this became an entity so I could (f.e) set visibility to hidden to hide a full section without doing each item individually.

Again, sorry if this has already been suggested or is already in. (Only starting playing around 24 hours ago)

  • Hi russellit! I think Family system is close to what you need. It allows you to gather objects under a common super-objet. For example : You have Monster1, Monster2, and Monster3 -> You can make a "Monsters" Family with all them. Then, when you change the visibility of "Monsters" it will be applied to Monster1, Monster2, and Monster3.

I'm not sure it was exactly what you needed, but if you just started to discover C2, you might have missed this feature like I did. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

Check out the manual page for detailed information : https://www.scirra.com/manual/142/families

  • Hi GaMan, thanks for your reply... that's certainly a useful feature that I didn't know about (and will now be using) but I was thinking about it more from a design point of view. For example, if I wanted to move a whole area with everything within it but without having to try and highlight them together each time. So I could move something like a "Menu" or something like that

  • Hum... I'm not sure to understand exactly what you need that can't be make by selecting more objects with the mouse and then changing some properties. You can also right-click and select "wrap the selection" to change the size or rotate selected objects as a whole.

    Another manual page maybe ? :p https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/119/the-layout-view

  • It's essentially the last page you sent, but as a permanent thing. Similar to what you'd do in Photoshop or Illustrator with their "Group" and "Ungroup" function

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I don't think that's possible yet, indeed. At least you can isolate these elements on a same layer, as if it was a group.

  • No it is not possible at the moment in C2 AFAIK. It seems to be a nice feature C3 could have. For now it's just wise to have a separate layer for each parts of layout like menu, playerGameplay, HUD etc. so you can disable unwanted layers and make an easy selection with your mouse.

  • Ah yes, I didn't think it was possible, just thought I'd ask in case I was being stupid.

But yeah it's certainly a nice to have for the next version

    Thanks all for your comments
