I am just getting my feet wet with Construct 2. I want make a game with a lot of FMV (full motion video).
Is Construct 2 a good fit for this?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
It's okay if you made your game for PCs and consoles, like Wii U, as those videos could take hundreds of megabytes inside your project, depending on how many videos you include.
But I'm not sure if such feature may suitable for mobiles.
I will likely target PC and MAC versions first. Optimizing for mobile may be more of a challenge.
I'm more concerned about functionality such as instantly playing the video once a button is clicked.
I'm a huge fan of using FMV's in my games. I never have any issues with a playback delay either. But they are VERY taxing on the game's file size. If you do decide to use them, I would wait til the end to start importing them and testing them. Otherwise game testing is gonna be a grueling task because loading up the game will take forever thanks to its overall size.
