Theme:

SPACE COWBOYS

Make a game in any style you like, revolving around the theme of "Space Cowboys." Interpret it how you will.

You can use any style of graphics... high or low res, or found images from the internet... except for sprites from other games. No sprite rips, and all images must be made or collected specifically for this compo.

Well it's not Brokeback Asteroid, but its close.

Space Cowboys: The Asteroid Miners

Ride your cash cows, the ore-rich asteroids, toward the mining station!

Left/Right arrow: steer your cowboy!

Up/Down: increase/decrease thrust!

Blearght couldn't finish it.

Sheep were supposed to spawn randomly, come forward and one would have to lasso it and bring it... somewhere :s

Move near a space cow and press space to guide the cow towards the black hole in the center of the corral. Get as many cows as you can before time is up.

Arrow keys to move, shift to jump. The game is pretty self explanatory, you'll find out your objective within the first 5 seconds. ^^ (dammit no time to add sounds...)

Space Dating - Original Version

Move with arrows, avoid fashion stores.

Edit: Added story.

Story:

You are Sven, a space cowboy on his way to a date with his new found boy friend, unfortunately you have no condoms, grab as many as you can, avoid fashion stores since they'll get you late, also avoid used condom since they contain AIDS.

But most of all, get in time!

Edit 2: Done after the comp - polished the game a bit, added story and the possibility to finish it.

Man, I'm torn... Davioware's is slick as hell but dkdoom's is pretty original... I don't know who to vote for

Davioware got mine. The unfairness of the camera moving too far behind you made you want to memorize the level and beat it. Even though i suppose there wasn't really a good ending to it. Guess i'll try to find out...

I voted for Davio, greatinterpretion of the theme, nice gfx and superb gameplay.

DKdoom gets the surrealist price.

davioware has my vote, too, for having the stampede idea & turning the cowboy-cow-relationship (one herding the other) around.

I decided I'd vote for doom, because I like the core concept and I think he deserves some recognition for originality

But yes, Davio's was pretty damn good and made me laugh out loud when I first played it
