A complete beginner's guide to making a simple game, guiding you through the interface and making events.

Feedback on this tutorial would be appreciated, especially from complete beginners. Was it easy to follow? Did you get stuck anywhere?

• I just checked out Construct and this tutorial last night, and I must say I found the tutorial easy to follow and informative in that it showed me where the most common controls and features were located. Good job.

• Logical, easy to follow - just the stuff for a beginner to get into Construct. By the end I was adding extra stuff and had a good grasp of what is what.

So keep up the great work both on Construct and the help materials

• I'll bringing it to my Cafe (www.daum.net portal service - exclusive than sites) and translate to korean... (+ restructuring it)

is that fine?

• That's fine, it would be great to have translations of this tutorial.

• thank you for this tutorial,

unfortunately I have a problem when I try to add the player's sprite, I can open it but in the Layout it's like the image is broken. Any guess ?

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• That's the issue with some nvidia graphics card. Make sure your sprite has power of two image - 32x32, 64x64, 128x128... that should fix your problem.

• thanks dude, I just tried it out and it works perfectly now

• I get a 404 error when I use the link. Is this happening to anyone else?

This is a new forum launched on a new server etc. Some links will not work until fixed by the uploader - hopefully soon

Hm, seems like something the web developer needs to handle based on the new message I'm getting when I use the link. Thanks for the info though,I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

• That demo - and a few others - can now be found off the main 'Construct/Construct Classic' link HERE. Click on the 'Demos' link and then the relevant link you require.

• Thanks for your help zenox, though without any directions I'd rather not start playing around with it. I've made that mistake before. :P

Maybe I should ask someone to write up a tutorial in the request thread?

• Might try the "Intro to C2". Its pretty much the same.

• It's unfortunate that the file links haven't been transferred, as the 'ghostshootertut.zip' link includes both the .cap and the full instructions in html.

Maybe some kind soul who still has it could re-link temporarily for you via dropbox (fingers crossed).

I've hunted through my backups and found that file. I'm currently creating a dropbox account so will give the link when I've worked out what to do!
