  • What the? Just plainly awesome.. I will try to learn from this and hopefully make something using this engine.. Amazing

  • Unfortunately, it seems to still be broken in 99.62.

  • 3D Box's Pitch and yaw are broken, I believe.

  • Now that's a bummer - I wanted to push Construct as a game development platform for a commercial, educational project to save greatly on development time and costs (as well as give you guys more exposure).

Most of the activity is in 2D. However, one of the main features of the "game" would have involved moving through a grocery store in first person to choose the right types of food to place in one's basket, and being able to do the faked 3D would make Construct a no-brainer choice for this project.

Actually no, 3d is not what construct is meant for, nor is it easy to do in it. You're much better off with a free 3d engine for a 3d game, check out unity, it's much more suited for a first person game.

Depending on the simplicity of your game, a mod derived from David's wolf engine might work. Any additions to the 3d features would require a hell of a lot more work though. Anyway, if you want to use this engine, make your game 98.9, it's a lot more stable too.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Wow, now that's fast and helpful feedback

Indeed, the bulk of the application is in 2D, with the exception of that single part where the 3D needs are minimal and the fake presented here would be an elegant solution that suits our needs perfectly without wasting time with overkill 3D features.

Thank you very much for the version information, I'll look into that.

  • Sorry to revive this old thing, but are we able to use this engine for whatever projects we want?

What I mean to say is, is there any 'Legal' issues with me using this engine? I'd hate to be a jerk!

I'm REALLY looking forward to get stuck into a "Marathon" style FPS, and this seems like the perfect place to start!

  • you are, but this engine is dated, really dated. you could do something a lot more impressive now.

  • There's a lot of people asking about 3D, but few minds who can handle it here on the board. I'm not the biggest 3D fanatic, but i think a LOT of people would be thankfull if you threw a simple "use to whatever you want" engine together quazi. I'm asking you since your brain doesn't seem to have any limits, and consequently you won't have to waste as much energy for a perfect result as us human people would

  • Ah. I've been hoping for something like this. I knew it could be done, it just would require an -epic- amount of scripting and skill.

    Ye da man, David.

    Edit:

Although it doesn't seem to work quite well for me. Perhaps that's because of an update to Construct.

  • I see others are doing stuff with it. Where's the tutorial/download?

  • RecGames, there is an updated version here which might run in Construct Classic R2: http://www.scirra.com/forum/topic40033.html
