  • This really isn't a game so much as it is a sort of experiment in platforming backgrounds.

In past projects, on other platforms, I've had to use a variety of weird techniques to achieve the "paralax" effect. So when I found out about the 3D Box object in Construct, I decided to see what could be done with it.

The result is the discovery of the ability to make some primitive 3D backgrounds, with the only limit being the cubic shape. On the bright side, you can change their Z position to make the objects further away, and they move properly in relation to their position.

I really hope there are other 3D primitives supported in the future (simple spheres, cylinders, etc.).

  • That's pretty good These 3D demos make a very good case for better 3D capabilities!

  • Now that is cool!!

  • Looks good!

  • Amazing. Now this is the type of thing I am looking to see. Maybe if we can get some 3D model support for things other than cubes, we can start seeing games like "Contra: Shattered Soldier" on Construct. Oh man, it gets me excited just thinking about it.

  • It's very good!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Wow very nice idea!

I was wondering the same thing about having more 3d shapes... such as a "brush" tool that you can use to freehand or point-plot any type of shape you like, such as a star, cross, or other funky shape.

Good work with the idea of using the buildings in the background in a platform style game! I thought they would only be useful for above view games but I wasn't thinking along the same tangent as you!

  • Wow that is great! Awesome work, it feels very "playstation" to me!
