physics question: thread/string?

Is it possible to have an object (with gravity) hanging on a string/thread?

And that moving the object seems like it's hanging? Resulting in a dangling movement.

To illustrate what I mean:

Play around with spring force in the physics behaviour. That should give you nice results.. it might take some experimenting though

To get a "dangling" effect you will need to chain several objects together either with hinges or spring force, and yes it can be done. There are a couple examples floating around the forum somewhere.
