Not Enough Video Memory on Mac.

I'm using Parallels on my Mac Book Pro to run a Windows XP inside a virtual machine. I'm trying to run Construct, but every time I try to create a new project, no matter what type, I get the "not enough video memory" error followed by the program crashing.

Any ideas?

Probably that Emulator does not use enough Graphic Card memory.

Set it a little bigger and try again?

Also make sure that it's using hardware acceleration (by default it's turned off). I can't remember the exact term they use for it, but I think it's somewhere in the virtual machine's preferences.

How much video memory do you have? I guess running that app in the VM will tell you what the VM thinks - you need at least 64MB of VRAM to be able to run Construct effectively.

Maybe you could try running Windows through Boot Camp, then run Construct. Most VMs have trouble running even old Multimedia Fusion games at full speed (I tried using the Windows version of Parallels to run an old game of mine on an older version of Windows, it was slow), I can't imagine one trying to run Construct.
