  • Hello, I'm new to Scirra, and have been digging through the forums for information, but what I'm looking for is a bit specific, so I'm hoping someone more familiar can show me the way.

What I'd like to do is a retro 2d platformer, with a 16-bit console look to it. I'd like it to look and feel like an SNES game, but I'm not sure where to start. I see some mentions of engines that were made, and I know nothing about engines withing engines... weird, but could be useful.

Are there any specific threads, downloads, or support pages that would help me get what I'm looking for?

    I appreciate any help, thanks!

  • For the platform engine, check out the tutorials here:

Deadeye is the man to thank.

As for the retro look, do a google on "pixel art".

You'll get plenty of useful links and tutorials.

    Hope that helps,

    Krush.
