  • 1. Are there any hotkeys for Construct? I'd like to specifically find hotkeys to copy/paste events, conditions and actions. Also a key to move back and forth from the layout to the event editor would be nice.

    2. I had this bug where I made a small physics object fall onto a larger immovable one. The small object just floated in the air above the larger one. It doesn't seem to detect a collision (I tried some collision detection events), but it just bounces off the air as if it hit something.

    3. How would I try to make a 'digging' code, for example, like in Liero or Worms when using the blowtorch.

Thanks in advance for any help

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • 1.) I dont know much, they will release help file or something when they reach 1.0

2.) Huh? Can you provide us file becouse i dont get it.

    3.)

  • I'd like to give a file, but it's a group training project or something, so I'd have to ask with them first

    Thanks for the link, though!

  • you are right

There are, but they generally aren't documented. A wiki page on this would be good, and more shortcuts for navigation also should be added in future.

Did you enable gravity on the object you wanted to fall down?

Doppel's file is a good example for Q3 as well.

  • Doppel's file is a good example for Q3 as well.

Also i wish people use Search button...

  • Oh Doppel, let's not get bitter over the Search button. The main keywords of the question ("Worms" or "Blowtorch" or "Digging") aren't present in the original post in that thread, and sadly our search isn't a sentient being, so might not be smart enough to solve everyone's problems right off the bat!

I had this problem too, the collision detection seemed to happen early, so the falling object bounced off air above the platform.

  • Here's what happened for (2):

The file doesn't make sense though, just a random experiment with construct features

Yup, gravity enabled. It looks like a collision detection problem with the physics I think.

  • Can not use a the tiled background object in Physics. Its what the name says: a background.

Use a real object, as in this fixed .cap. And everything works as expected.

If u really need the tiled background, then use it as a face,

    but dont give it physics,

in stead, use a invisible Box object with the same boundings to act as colider.

Hope this brings back confidence in construct.

  • Ah, thanks. Lol, I expected them to work the same way, seeing how the physics example uses a gradient. Someone should put up a warning or something
