How do you make it where if you shine a light on a solid object, it looks like it would in real life?
what do you mean? self shadows? reflections?
Like if an enemy is in your flashlight, he has a shadow. the shadows are in at least a semi-realistic manner.
you could just ask "how can objects cast shadows"

How do you get the Shadow Caster?
ERROR
First of all you have to add to your layout two objects:
Then for your Sprite you have to add behavior called "Shadowcaster Behavior"
Light object is necessary for shadow caster to work.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
When I try to run the layout (or the application) it says: failed to load plugin Shadowcaster.csx
Try to reinstall Construct Classic, Shadowcaster.csx is integral part of application
Reinstalled Construct r1.2 (well I downloaded it again). It says the same thing.
shadowcaster
extract in construct directory
Works fine for me in CC1.2
