Each tile 64 by 64 pixels - Ultimate Tile Set for your awesome games
  • Would it be possible to implement some "Scroll X" and "Scroll Y" actions for this object? Basically to scroll the contents of the tile inside of it's bounding box.

For instance, if I made a background tile of raindrops, I could make an event:

    Always:

    • TiledBackground: Scroll Y+5

And the rain would appear to be falling, without having to physically move the object around. You could do some pretty neat effects with something like that, I think.

  • Agreed, that would be very neat <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />.

  • Sounds like a lazy request hehe, but why not!

  • Nice idea. It can be also in shader format, so we can apply it for any object. Will be useful for backgrounds.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • It's possible, on the todo list!

  • Add an option to select between tiled shader (shader for each tile) or complessive shader (for all the background)

  • 2007? Nothing happened on this feature? Shame, scrolling backgrounds need to be made easy please.

2011. There's a Construct Wiki. Shame, one should really test out objects or read the wiki before complaining <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" />

  • What the hell? Where did this thread come from? Oh, uh...

2007? Nothing happened on this feature? Shame, scrolling backgrounds need to be made easy please.

Um... dude, this feature has been available for a thousand years now <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" />

  • Maybe resolved threads should be locked to stop the the dead from rising? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" />

  • That would take forever. Maybe people could just look at the date before posting? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /> Not to be like that about it, but cmon now.

(How do you end up on page 700 or whatever anyway, geez)

  • He probably did a forum search and gave up when he saw this topic instead of making a thread in H/T to ask for help...? I'm guessing.

    It's all good <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />

I'm guessing he DID look at the date, but thats just me >_____>

To be honest, I also thought this feature wasn't implemented. Sure would have helped with some stuff way back. (I should probably dust off my wiki-reading glasses D:)

  • Well it is limited tho...

You can only offset x, or y, not both at the same time, and you still cant change the angle.

Not sure, I haven't tried it, but you may be able to do a diagonal with a distortmap.

Huh? Not only can you do all of that, you can do all three at the same time if you want:

Unless you mean you can't change the angle of the object itself. In which case, no you can't. But you can change the angle of the tiled image within the object, which is pretty useful.
