Construct does not work at all

Try this and please tell me if Construct works:

Start of app -> Button: set text to "Hello"

result: nothing! (the button mantains OK default text).

On button clicked -> Text: set text to "Bye"

result: nothing! (the text object mantains "text" default text).

On button clicked -> ComboBox: Add line "Oh my God"

result: nothing! (the combo box remains empty).

Now, Scirra, I can not imagine why release a non working version when the last release of Construct I remember (was #11) was incomplete but surely better than this waste-time stuff.

Construct 0.8 doesn't even start up for me. Default windows error message. I should never have started updating Construct, it has gone downhill by every update for me. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" />

That's right, to use Construct 0.8 you have to uninstall any beta that was previously present. Failing that, run regedit, and delete the folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Construct

That should be a last resort; uninstalling should do this for you.

Sorry, I will not be able to send you the .cap file because at this time I removed Construct from my PC for these reasons:

• Construct is not enough mature to develope professional applications; many and many controls and options are not present or appear to be at a very basic level (ex: FileObject - now desappeared in release 0.8 - even if this object had very simple functions, not enought to perform every day operations with files and folders), leaving the developer without the possibility to full customize their aspect and behaviour.

• Many object have desappeared since previous versions and I can not imagine to start producing either a simple app if there is not stability in object dotation and funtions (quoting Arima in another thread: "...there seems to be no way to get information from an object either..."

At this point I'll wait for Construct to be more stable and efficient before consider to install a new release.

Lately we've made many significant changes to Construct, which included needing to make changes to every plugin. Those which are not yet ready (such as the file object) will be appearing in later builds. As it stands Construct is more geared towards games, because several of the application plugins are not yet ready.

Did this apply to my problem as well? I have done what you said but it's still same result. It goes for 0.8 and 0.82. I don't wanna mess with the registery though, so I won't try that solution.
