  • I really like that Construct 3 has its own built-in and quite convenient code editor.

But I want to use an external code editor, because I lack a lot of functions. But I can't do it.

I use Desktop NW.js version of Construct 3. When saving the project "as a folder", I get access to the script files, but if I change them outside of Constrcut 3, this will not affect the scripts in the project in any way.

Can you make it possible in Construct 3 to work with script files directly? So that I can edit them using an external program, and all changes also occur in the project?

  • Try Construct 3

  • To be clear, by "Cant be edited" i mean "Can't be edited while C3 is running. Changes only occur after restarting of C3"

  • I am using C3 w/ Chrome and I save as Project Folder also. I am editing my JSON Project files in an external editor and using the 'Reload All From Folder' function to update them while the Project is open (right click on 'Files' in Project bar.) I just checked and the 'Script' folder also has the same type of option (but I have not tried it yet.)

It's not automatic sync which would be nice, but at least you don't have to reload the project.

This may be a beta feature, I can't remember if it's in 'stable' yet.

Seems like it's a beta function. On nwjs version i can use only stable releases of C3, anyway.

But i glad to hear that Scirra already work in that direction
