How do I make a "Star Wars" like scrolling text?

I can't find a solution to do this. My game need a good introduction to make an impact and make this would be perfect. I tried to make mesh on a text object but it doesn't work well. Is there a method?

I was hoping there was a dynamic method without using an image, but this is fine too.

You probably could do it with a 3d camera too. That would let you use normal text.

You can paste your text on a drawing canvas - it also supports meshes.
