  • I work at an educational institution. We have some pretty old PCs with 32-bit Windows. How can I export a project to an executable file (.exe)?

  • Support for 32-bit Windows systems is now so rare it's been retired in the latest releases. 64-bit systems appeared around 20 years ago, and even Windows 11 doesn't support 32-bit systems any more. If you still need x86 Windows support, it's still available in the r449.x LTS releases.

I have the same problem. In Colombia, millions of schools have computers with x86 systems. Most are low-income schools that will never upgrade their equipment; some are donations from companies. I develop educational applications that must be compatible with these computers. We need the export function in the new version of Windows WebView2 to have the option to export in x86. This was very important in NW.js, but it's no longer available.

  • Those must be very old systems - as I mentioned 64-bit hardware has been standard for many years now, to the extent even the latest version of Windows doesn't support 32-bit hardware any more. Such old systems are not going to be supported forever. And if you still need 32-bit exports, it's still supported in the r449.x LTS release, so you can just keep using that.
