Why won't any project open?

    I have all my projects saved on my g-drive. I haven't used C3 in a while, but I've never had Every Project fail to open. Even the project I was working on today gives me the error: "Failed to open project. Check it is a valid Construct 3 single-file (.c3p) project."

    I just closed it. I couldn't remember how to move the character using on-screen arrows, so I went to open an old file and Nothing will open. Nothing! I can't even open the project I created today and just closed moments ago.

    What's going on?

  • After a failed attempt to open a project, press F12 and check for error messages in the console log.

    I would also try a different browser.

  • If you have a project that no longer opens in the latest version of Construct, send it to us at supportkho@construct.net and we'll take a look. However I'd note it's not always possible to help, as problems can be caused by things like hardware failure causing data corruption, bad third-party addon updates breaking projects, and other outside causes.

    It would also useful to go through the releases page and find whether it really does still open in old versions (in which case you have a workaround for the time being), and which specific version it stops opening in (which is very useful information to have with any issue report).
