  • I'm coming back to my project after multiple weeks of not editing it. I tried to open it up so I could take a screenshot of something in it, but it's refusing to open and giving me this error message.

I tried opening the other files I have that were older builds of the game but they give me the same error. The same can be said of a project file I have on hand that was an example someone else made. A very basic demo of a different project is the only thing I have that will open without fuss.

  • I'm afraid Firefox 145 currently has a bug that is breaking Construct. I filed an issue with Mozilla about it. The workarounds are to use Firefox Beta as the issue appears to be fixed in Firefox 146+, or a different browser like Chrome or Edge.

  • Alright, thank you. Relieved to know it's an issue with the browser and not that my files themselves are corrupted.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • FWIW, Firefox 145.0.1 has now been released and fixes the bug that was affecting Construct, so if you make sure Firefox is up-to-date it should be working OK again.
