I have a big problem. My game needs an integrated small video (3mb, mp4, h264)
I don't have a MacBook, but my friends reported that the video doesn't play on their computers (macOS Catalina, Safari 13.1.1 and Safari 14.0)
I checked this video on ios it plays back
What is the problem? I can't understand why this is happening
Demo level: clever-williams-b38577.netlify.app
This is what I get in the console:
Catalina, Safari 13.1.1
blackhornet, thank you for your help!
When you switch runtime to Construct2, the video is played. If I switch runtime to Construct3, the video doesn't work.
I can't switch to runtime Construct2, there are too many plugins in the game that are not compatible with C2 runtime
I hope the Scirra team will notice this message and fix the bug in the new version of C3.
I created a report about this error on github, but now I don't see it. Did you delete it? Why?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
IIRC, I tried the project you provided and it worked just fine in Safari on both macOS and iOS.
Playbacks fine here on Catalina (Mac OS) - Mac Mini 2018 and iOS 13 - iPad Pro.
Hello, is this resolved?
I am still facing issues playing videos on iOS and safari.
any known way to mitigate the problem
The last time I checked, video playback was working just fine in Safari on macOS and iOS.
Without more information I would guess you're using a video codec that's supported in other browsers but not Safari. Check the format your video is in and whether it's supported in Safari.
I checked with a second mac but still on safari it's stuck on the first frame and wont move for about half an hour.
I'm using in mp4 H.264 videos (about 40 of them) and it's supported by safari (according to my friend)
As far as I can tell, it's working fine. You should at least share a project file with a sample video file so I can check what you're doing.
I have a project here that I hosted on AWS to test with...
The videos stopped loading after I refreshed the browser once on the iPad.
