An educational game for Fill in the Blanks. An easy to use template for developers to build larger games
  • Hi all

I've finally found some time get back in Construct 3 and have opened up my project after over a year to find that I can't view the layouts in the editor - they're all blank!

I can view events, but layouts just show a white blank page. I've tried scrolling around, made sure the Layer has "Visible in editor" ticked and I've tried ticking and unticking the "Preview effects" box in Project properties, but nothing works.

If I run the code (Preview Layout) or debug layout THEN it shows me; everything is there - it's not like the files are missing or corrupt. It simply doesn't show in the editor.

I normally use Chrome but I tried logging in via Edge (which I haven't ever used for Construct 3 on this desktop) and I have exactly the same issue - so I dont believe it is a cache issue.

Any ideas? Am I doing something daft after not using for so long?!?

    Many thanks

    Ross

  • We believe this issue is caused by the system graphics driver rather than Construct or the browser. We are trying to track down cases where this happens, so it would be useful if you could share your system's graphics information with us. To do that, with the Chrome or Edge browsers, visit chrome://gpu in the address bar, and then click the 'Download Report to File' button at the top. Then attach that file to an email and send it to us at supportfzj@construct.net with a link to this thread for context, and we should be able to identify things like your specific graphics card model.

To fix the problem, try installing any available system software updates, or check for an updated graphics driver from the device's graphics vendor. Alternatively to work around the problem, try opening Construct's settings and change the 'Enable WebGPU in editor' setting to 'No'.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Many thanks Ashley! I have set the 'Enable WebGPU in editor' setting as advised to 'No' and this had resolved the issue!

I have also sent the request GPU report to the email address as requested.

    Best regards

    Ross
