  • Ok we know the price and we know that it will be Chrome based. We know it will have a new editor. Ok so some questions moving forward Tom Ashley

    1) Will the new games made with C3 run faster or the same?

    2) Will the new events system make game making easier?

    3) Will there be new events added to the new editor?

    4) Will there be monetization models featured so that people can monetize their games? For example will there be plugin ins for different AD networks for Android , IOS, and PC? Not just one but a variety of options prebuilt into C3 ?

All these questions are important if you charge more we need more proffessional features like the ones I am asking about.

  • On Monday we'll get the next update. Hopefully the Community will calm down by that time and can think more clearly. I'm not saying I don't understand why so many of you are upset, but ranting in topics won't bring us forward (I'm not talking about anyone, or about this topic, but in general). Polite, well thought suggestions could and I'm sure Scirra is more keen to think about those posts.

    Edit:

    To answer PixelPower 's post:

1 - I don't think so, since C3 uses the same runtime as C2. But I think we can hope for some smart optimizations.

2 - I'm not sure how it can make it any easier. But I'm positive that it will make it more convenient.

    3 - Probably.

4 - I think this is a must have feature today. So I think we can expect that.

This topic is polite not ranting. The reason the topics go into fights is people like the ones you see in this topic who start fights instead of answering questions.

That's why I said I'm not talking about this topic. I edited my post to answer your questions the best way I could.

For number 2 they can make it like buildbox thats the ultimate easy to use game maker but the price is too much. I never seen games made as fast as buildbox games.

For number 4 that will be a huge factor because the price has been upgraded so the feature set must include more ways to monetize your games.

For number 3 I just hope they get it right haha.

Thanks for not ranting Nobody is starting anything here. Youre simply just repeating questions that have been asked before. Scirra have already said they will reveal more in the coming weeks. Read the blogs and FAQs. All anyone knows is whats been written there.

Buildbox is crazy expensive, but seems to be doing well. Its nice and slick but its extremely limited. It does look to be getting better over time. Buildbox is for wealthy beginners only!

  • Scirra that pick up this market, I believe that c3 will follow the same line of buildbox, Believing that it will conquer buildbox users for it, is exactly what scirra forgets the faithful public, Scirra is leaving its faithful public aside.

I do not condemn scirra, she has to earn her money.

I expected an update to make 3d games

I'm going to start looking at Godot Engine, CopperCube, Gdevelop, Spark engine that's about to leave this year, I think spark will revolutionize the engines, wait and see.

  • We have weeks of updates scheduled. Please be patient!

  • We understand Ashley,

but like I mentioned it in another thread, would've been (from my point of view) nice to have updates of new features instead of graphical upgrades to the interface, which is of course great too.

I don't personally have a problem with either the subscription model or the features Scirra showed, but I would like to see, specially day 1, new features that would help game dev.

Again, I mentioned it earlier, but personally I'm one of those that would be ready to pay for exporters for consoles and other. My primary goal is not to release for mobile and so I would prefer to see features for pc and consoles instead.

With all due respect, is was kinda messy, but I'm curious to see what you guys will announce.

All I can say is that Scirra in the past delivered great updates, patches and in overall a great software so I'm expecting the same level.

    Thanks!

No point in Scirra showing all the must-haves first because nobody is going to want to know about the nice-haves. Both announcements so far are new features. I cant do either of them in C2
