Hi All
I am now running Construct 3 - 506.3 stable version.
I am busy with sports game, have 30 off 3d models, low poly - rigged - blender animated models.
I did a test on new clean project, every time I switch animations using either "Play" or "Set Animation" the CPU load increases(in debugger) - the 3D Model Plugin CPU usage goes up.
Even when the animation plays out, the usage does not go back down after the blend phase. After a short while of changing animations. (BTW - I used key pressed triggers to ensure i don't accidently change animations every tick), the load goes very high and obviously the FPS suffers. This is not hardware related, tested it on 3 different PCs/Laptops.
If I don't change the animations(or just do a "Blend") the cpu usage remains constant with no increase in load/demand.
I know a workaround is to destroy the 3d model objects every time there is a break in the match(scrum/lineout/kick off), but I assume something is wrong with the plugin?
I tested the destroy scenario, it does work. Then the behind the scenes calcs are destroyed.
I also created a text object that in real time displays all the animations that is currently active, the transition works correctly if one can trust that animations output. Not sure what to do? At first I believed its the 3d model complexity that is too high, then I looked at how many Bones are in the rigged model. But soon realized its the switching between animations that's the culprit.
Thank you for the amazing 3D updates recently!
