  • Hi,

I am teaching Video Game Designing through Construct 2, I want some material on course curriculum like How to relate video game development with programming concepts, how to divide construct 2 tutorial into sessions, What should be the first project, Session flow, exercises etc.

Anyone here who is teaching construct 2, can provide me curriculum related to video game development or construct 2.

    Thanks in advance.

  • You should reach out to He makes video training courses for C2 and might be able to provide you some direction.

  • I was actually going to start planning out a Curriculum as I want to start teaching local kids my son's age game design using C2. He is 9 years old.

I have nothing started yet however, sorry.

Hi Ed Farias, I have seen your platform game tutorial on udemy, it was very helpful. Now I am planning to design a platform game, there I want to implement ladder and rope. Can you provide me a tutorial on that.

Can you tell me from where can I get idea of Construct 2 curriculum.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I think creating a curriculum is just going to come with experience in using Construct 2 and understanding how to teach it to people. Also, who you are teaching it too will determine your curriculum as well.

I do have future plans to make an Advance Platformer Tutorial, but it's a ways off as I have a lot on my plate right now.

Wish I could be more help, sorry.

  • I'm going to release a Chinese C2 textbook. And my publisher had got requests more than 30 schools here. I will say gameplay design is another huge topic which should be separated from C2.

I had classes in four university, and each of them has different 1st project after each negotiation.

  • STEM Fuse has a great Game design course:

Game:IT is an introductory course to game design and development that engages students in project-based learning. From the first lessons to the last lesson students navigate through guided tutorials building 5 NEW games!

After 4 weeks of learning various skills that go into building games students spend the bulk of the remaining course building 5 unique games that test and enhance different coding skills. Following the 5 original games, students spend 3 weeks building their very own unique game. Game:IT is about building games, but also hits all state and national CTE standards. Beyond building games, students learn the components of how gaming is used in the "real" world, what goes into designing good games, what separates good games from bad games, the gaming and engineering design cycle, and much more. To see a full list of what is covered in the course see the teacher's guide below.

Game:IT 2.0 keeps with the same principles that made Game:IT a success. We listened to teachers and adapted thier best practices into our new curriculum. This 18 week (90 hour) course offers flexibility for your school. Game:IT can be taught as a stand-alone elective, as part of a CTE program, as a supplement to math or physics classes or even as an after school or summer learning program.
