Hi Folks,

After much stress and panic, my game, Neon Galaxy, has finally made it into the Windows Store just in time for the compo. Thanks to thehen for helping me out late last night as I had a mini-freak out after being rejected for the 2nd time by MS! To their credit, they did do a really quick turnaround after submission 3 so well done MS for that!

Also props to austin for his tireless support and lightning quick responses with clay.io, which has fast become a mandatory service for all of my games!

So here it is:

This game is my homage to one of my favorite games from the 80's: Robotron. Survive on pure reflexes & adrenaline, facing unending waves of bots to become the grand champion in the clay.io leaderboard!

• My game didn't make it ;( ...

• Whiteclaws - what happened? Did they reject your game? If so was it to do with the snapped-view fiasco that a few of us had to go through as well?

• EyeHawk, looks amazing! I'm installing right now

• Thanks Jayjay! The game hasn't shown up in New releases yet, not sure why?

• Hmm, that's strange, I see it here way down the pages near "Nancy Drew" and "Mahjong"

• Jayjay - That's so weird, I don't see Nancy Drew or Mahjong either? Maybe I need to force the store client to do an update...

• Fantastic work! It's a great blend of quality graphics, sound, and fun gameplay

• Thanks austin!

• Great work Eyehawk. Btw, how long was the approval process in days for this game?

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• Animate - thanks! The first submission took about 3-4 days I think, then the 2nd submission took 4 or so days, and submission 3 happened on the same day.

Normally they are pretty quick - around 3-5 days if nothing goes wrong.

• Yet another game not available to South Africa:-( Why?

• Hi Po10c, recently there has been a change to 4 countries which require an Age Rating Certification to be able to deploy there which unfortunately includes SA. Due to the short time lines I decided just to untick those 4 countries.

Has anyone explored getting the certs? Is it it hard?

• In South Africa, all media sold in the country needs to be certified by the local ratings board called the FPB (Film & Publication Board). Unfortunately, the FPB is slow on the uptake on digital distribution and often just demands that certain online stores/services cut all sales if they're not certified.

If you really want to go through the process of getting your game certified for sale in SA, you can contact the FPB here: fpb.org.za/profile-fpb/contact-us. Be prepared to pay though. The current rate is the equivalent of about $210 per game :/

That's why most South Africans have historically (and many still do) sign up for these services with a UK or US account.

• Wow, I uploaded my game on ALL countries, chose the 12+ option, no certification required and viola! Downloaded my game today and no problems(except all my bugs:D)
