Cannon Ball Shooter game assets for 2D bubble shooter puzzle game.
  • Hi!

    Bombardment would be a classic shooter, with some extra features like achievments, skill tree, player levels etc.

    What is finished now:

    - Registration/Login

    - Try game mode (play without registration)

    - Top 10

    - Player search

    - 1 Mini Boss (at lvl 10,20,30,...)

    - 2 types of bombs

    - 5 buildings

    - 1 type of weapon with 3 upgrades

    - 1 type of turret with 1 upgrade

    - Some sound FX and 1 in-game music

    - Options - Sound and Gameplay

    - Loading Screen

    - Pause Menu

    Registration is done using php script and ajax calls.

    I send all reg data with ajax, then i check if player can register with that username (minimum password length, no duplicate usernames/emails etc.)

    If everything is ok then php inserts player to database, and sends feedback (Ajax->getlastdada).

    I tried doing this a while ago, but im not a PHP genius.

    Is it possible to share your PHP script some day? or point me to a right place?

    Sory i cant share script because of some copyright restrictions

    (originally it was created for a client of mine).

    Modified textboxes on Login, New password and Register screen.

    Changed the finish button on shop screen to next wave (cause some people

    dont know there is more lvl, exactly infinite)

  • Hey Peteer,

    I really respect that you have implemented the the username password scenario (I bet it wasnt easy) - but to be honest, I find it to be a barrier between the player and your game.

    I dont know about others but i get enough spam to make me really wary of handing out my email frivilously. If you disable it for testing or even add a "Guest" or "try first" I'd be happy to come back and tell you my thoughts.

    In the next few days i'll add guest/test play and other small improvements to the game.

    + Carpet bombing in random waves

    + Some optimalizations to calculations

    + Minor bug fixes (health bar, etc)

    Good job with the graphics it presents pretty well :)

    The first test was on IE, then i switched to chrome - really nice sounds, its very satisfying to shoot that cannon! lol.

    Looking forward to seeing that miniboss - good idea as well.

    Couple of things from my testing - as it stands your game really rewards those who can tap buttons fast, I can do that (rapid finger!) but then the problem was that by the end of wave 10 my finger was/is pretty sore lol.

    I think that if your dropping 20 bombs on wave 1 - then you should give the player 25-30 bullets to shoot, on successive waves you could increase the difficulty by giving players less amunition (so its more punishing when you miss - yet at the same time rewarding players with skill/practice). This would add another level of strategy as well as removing the cheese rapid fire tactic.

    On the other hand if your set on keeping the current style, auto firing by holding the mouse would save your finger! :)

    Cool game though, i'd play it again.

    Finally the first mini boss is in the game, and only final touches

    left.

    In the next few days i`ll update the game to the newest version.

    Until i finish it, here is the concept of the mini boss...
