  • Technical: I tested the game on an LG G-Pad 8.3, with Snapdragon S600. It ran very fast no slowdowns.

Gameplay: Cool concept with the deathmatch combat. Perhaps you need a little direction, suggest which Boss to start first for a new player.

Controls: I could not use it properly due to the lack of 8 directions. There seem to be only a response when I touch the 4 direction keys, not in between (diagonal). So movement felt very awkward and non reflex-responsive, which you need for a fast pace shooter.

    Definitely has potential.

  • Thanks for the review.. The first DSBA was a complete PC port. This was my first time trying to pack something like this into mobile and with all the limitations from CocoonJS.. It also proved to be even more limited.. Initially, I also wanted to add ads, but Mopub still haven't replied to my email to enable the Marketplace. In the future, I do have plans of change the controls to a smoother 8 directional layout.

  • You don't need marketplace to use AdMob ads via MoPub. Marketplace is only for their own ads, which in my experience, doesn't match the income of AdMob itself so its pointless.

As a CJS user myself, I HIGHLY recommend Intel XDK!

XDK is now officially awesome, great performance, great fullscreen support INCLUDING IMMERSIVE MODE, and working AdMob & Google Store!

You can check out a few of my big games on it:

    Star Nomad - Sandbox Spacesim

Ninja Girl - Action RPG Physics Shooter

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... girl&hl=en

  • Not sure if I agree with the performance part... Frames were dropping last time I ran this game through XDK... Also, it still doesn't have support to the Google Play Leaderboards/Achievements.. but I will agree that Intel has improved XDK overtime. I won't use XDK until a few more improvements are made.

    Nice games btw..

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

I also tried to run both on your both of your games on my tablet that has a quad core 1.4 GHz CPU and 1 GB ram. Both auto closed after the C2 loading logo screen.

  • That's android fragmentation for you. Also, what device is it?

CJS crashes on a lot of devices out there, more than XDK in my own experience (looking at the crash reports in Google console).

Not the best tablet in the world, but capable of running several of the 3D Gameloft based games..

I never really had any issues with my game running under CJS... Especially with the 8 Arenas that's 1024,576 resolution. I'm aware of the non memory management it has. I make a whole seperate junk layout to spawn all the items that I need on an arena. It works well...

I also use image compressors as well... but I will try to compile an XDK version of my game and see if I get the same 60-70fps results like cjs..

  • Your devices use a Rockchip SOC which I believe has a Mali 200/400 GPU, while its ok, this particular GPU IRC is blacklisted by Chrome for WebGL so that is why it crashes.

Although another user reported to me it crashed, but he uninstall and reinstall and suddenly it works. So there you go..

As for CJS, have you tried your game on Samsung Tablets? Or Samsung Notes, or S2/S3 phones?

CJS has hardware conflicts with bigger brands. This is for my Star Nomad with CJS:

I got about 20 beta testers on Reddit who crashed with CJS try my XDK version and they said it ran beautifully.

This is one of the major reasons moving forward, for Android, I'll focus on XDK.
