  • just a little side project i started a while ago.or more like an experiment of sorts.

    if anyone remembers a classic called moonstone. i decided to try and make some sort of a "remake".anyway,heres the screenshot:

    to put things in perspective,this is the good ol' classic im trying to remake:

    anyone who hasnt played it,i'd strongly recommend to try it,or atleast youtube it. it's still bloody brilliant,and very gory

    Its been a while, progress has been slow because I get an error message when I load the cap file, either I have to remove the background image or I have to change the text rendering each time I add to the game.

    Is this an issue with the number of text objects (600+) in the game I am creating or is it a problem I should report?

    More of the menu screens. All of the side buttons work and show the correct text like a page. Here you can select from a set of predefined images of your car for the race screens. You only will be able to have custom options for a new team.

    Here is the race screen once again. It has no car or circuit graphics as I had to start it again after a memory crash and a corrupted cap. Good thing I had previous versions of the main project cap file. This is why there is only text positioned so far.

    The game looks complex and... complicated, but I like it. I remember playing a racing game (I think the game is 20+yrs old), nascar racing, where I've had one car and raced it for 100+ rounds. I've had to avoid other cars and use pit stop to change tires, refuel etc. at the right time. I've liked that bit of strategy whether to go refuel or wait one more round and risk it to go dry (especially after 1/2h playing and 80 rounds finished ).

    In your game, can a player control a car or races will be simulated, or both?

  • It will definitely have a.i which will drive the car and react to events in the race while the player can decide on drivers/personnel/sponsors/suppliers and race strategy.

    To enable a player controlled car, the game would need to be written to also revolve around the player, where it may be best to play a full 3D game.

  • Nope, unfortunately not. And it probably won't stay because the guy who made it ist't the guy who's going to make the graphics for the game. It will only get better though, i promise.

  • Well, i've been working in this wee war game.

    The graphics are not mine (i made only the sprites of soldiers and chinese people) coz i'm not very good at making sprites.

    PD: in this stage, i tried to recreate Nanking Massacre. It's just an "intro".

    PD2: the mini-map is ugly, i want to make it more beautiful.

  • Im a new user to construct, been using other programs in the past such as game factory.

    My first impression of construct is amazing. Although I have much to learn I started on a project for fun trying the program out.

    Gametype: Platform.

    This is a small preview what my game will look like. Have in mind i have some HUD and other stuff to add later on. Will not share much about what the actually story is about. Thats something you have to wait for. ( yes the charsprite is currently a borrowed one, will change it later just had to look how it looked in the game ) I have some other sprites on it�s way.

    Always love the heavily pixelated look. Reminds me of Pathways a bit.

    Ningyo if you would like, i can make spome nice textures for you to replace this rather generic ones. all of them would be seamless of course but less repetetive.

    I can also fetch you some objects like those crates or even buldings and their models.

    Oh and dont get me wrong! its not like i am saying they're bad or anything... just offering my help.
