I am working on a "Infinity 2d runner game", it is on inicial state(first the design and those things)

But i am needing some help here, what could be crucial for a game like that?

What need to be on the game, so you, your father, your brother or sister can enjoy ?

It is the difficulty? customizable items.. ?

Please help me out, i swear the game will be free

I wouldn't start something if you don't already have an idea. Strange way to approach it, picking a genre then asking for ideas, maybe make something then ask for ideas / feedback on what you've made.
