    Hi,

I'm working on my 2nd C2 video game project called: "Broken Lasers".

The goal is to make it like a classic SNES vertical scrolling space game.

I have absolutely no idea on how to implement vertical scrolling in C2.

The background would be fixed and would not move

while enemy sprites would be gradually introduced to the screen

from the top and would move off the screen on the bottom.

Can someone give some hints or provide a URL to a great tutorial?

    Thanks!

  • There is actually a template for a vertical shooter in C2 itself. Start a new project and look for the template. The comments in the code probably will give you all the info you need on why/how to do things.

I took a look at the space shooter template.

It shows me most of what I must learn and implement.

Would it be possible to have a background image that does not move,

while the game scrolls vertically adding new enemies at the top?

I am not sure how to do the above - would it be something with Layers?

    Thanks!

  • Yes, have a background layer which parralax settings are set to 0,0 (with only your background image) (check again the beginner's guide page 7 in need) and have all your moving layers above it with regular 100, 100.

  • JeZLee The tutorials and manual are a great resource and 90% of the stuff you ask is covered by them. Just saying, it could save you some time to go through them a bit more.
