How do I make a timer that starts when object moves

Not like the object is moving, but has moved in any direction. I've been struggling with timer in my game because of this. Getting frustrated.. At the moment my timer starts when layout starts, but i'd like it to begin taking time when the main object moves.

The new Timer behaviour is the better mechanism.
