Forget about default textbox restrictions, you can create sprites atop of the textbox
  • I am using a textbox, but how textbox only shows text, background and borders become transparent?

    Thank for read.

  • Sorry, I don't understand your English. Could you post a screenshot or a picture of the problem?

  • It is here

  • You should create a separate layer for GUI/textboxes. Set that layer to transparent.

  • I did so, but it still does not work.

  • I know of one way is to do use window paint text box then cut it paste it in the gimp and set the layer to transparent alpha and then export it to construct 2

  • Actually, I know why. Originally I thought you were using a text field.

    A text BOX requires user input and is used to allow the user to enter some information in your game. I doubt that can be set to transparent since it's based on browser settings. Correct me if wrong.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Use the Text object under General instead of Text Box under form controls.

  • You can style the text box with css. Edit your index.html and add

    input[type="text"] { background: transparent; border: none;}

    to the style section.

    <img src="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8367729/construct/pics/textboxCSS.PNG" border="0" />

    That will change all text boxes. You can also give the text box an ID in the editor to style individual boxes.

    *edit*

    You can set the css style directly in the editor with the 'TextBox: Set CSS style' action.

  • I did it, thank you very much.

  • Did it with simple CSS Styles as per the below image:

    Why on earth have you responded - in a very impolite way also - to a post that was made 4 years ago?

    This is a totally unnecessary post, as it adds nothing to the original query.

    Any such future posts will just be deleted.

    Please take care when posting on older threads.

    Thanks.

    LOL so...the "police" doesn't target the criminal, but the vigilante. That's just ridiculous.

    Wow. You seriously don't see when you are in the wrong?

    Firstly, this thread is 4 years old, so you're post is unnecessary.

    Secondly, many non-native English make posts that sometimes do need clarification, so asking for more info/screenshots is perfectly acceptable.

    Thirdly, calling someone a troll is in itself trolling and a direct attack on another user which is strictly not allowed.

    Obviously, you can try to argue your case, but since you've already made a negative comment about me (I am certainly not the 'police') I have absolutely no interest in engaging with you again.

    If you wish to take this further, feel free to email supportbjc@scirra .com.
