How do I strength Shoot as Gradius videogame??

Hi,

Is posible Construct2 make a strength bar/power shoot as Gradius videogame?? I'm doing in my spare time a shooter game and is fun for me but...this shoot I do not know how to do it...

For example I press/hold the shoot key a few seconds and when I stop pressing key the shoot is more powerful.

any ideas? or similar capx?

Yes it is possible.

One way is to keep adding to a variable as you hold a key, and on key release use that variable as an expression to decide what type of shot to create.
