before i try to explain my issue (not really an issue i'm just getting started lol ) i'd want to say that i'm really glad to join this community of indie game devs , looking forward to master this tool and start making games like crazy!
So my probelm is :
I'm creating a simple 2d rpg style game (pokemon style) , first problem :
1 - How do is stop the player from running through solid objects ?

2 - How to make the player move in 4 directions only : up , down , right ,left

For issue number 1, you have the player on a different layer than the rest of the sprites. Try placing them into the same layer (layer 0 for example).
For issue number 2, you can always use the 8-direction movement and in its properties, there is a choice to make it only 4 directions.
On the properties dialog under 8 direction behavior, you can set it to 4 directions.
Try making the player solid too.

How do i prevent the player from rotating , is there any kind of guide on this ?
