Stop a device going to sleep

As the subject says.How do I stop a device (in my case an Android phone and tablet) going into sleep mode when I don't touch the screen for a period of time.Is there a command that I am missing?

If your game runs in the browser, this will be hard if not impossible to implement..

If your game is exported to apk, I believe there is a cordova plugin somewhere in the plugin section..
