How do I record my game?

I have searched this forum but didn't found anything.

What software do you use to record your trailers or gameplays? The only software I know is Fraps. But Fraps costs and I don't want spend money just for recording a game video. I don't need anything more than just recording the screen.

Can somebody help me?

I'd use OBS (https://obsproject.com/) and use it to record locally.

Fraps is designed for streaming and often crushes some of the colours, so even if you did buy it, it's not acually good choice for this problem.
