How would I calculate if and object flips backwards 360 degrees while in the air?

I want to use the 8 direction feature for doing flips. I'm wondering if I can just make an event with several conditions outlining the way it flips.
I just tried something similar. So if I press up to jump, left to turn and down to end the flip how would I make the event work by pressing "Up key" then "Left Key" then "down Key. I was able to execute the event when I pressed them all together but not in order

Use a variable. Once all your events for the backflip is done, set your variable to 1, than check if variable = 1, than you can add your points and reset the variable.
