  • Hi guys, new to the construct 2 world and need some help. i have designed an app using this great software but have hit a bump. From what ive read phpnegap is the best build type at the mo for android apps and i have used the online builder but would prefer to use eclipse and phone gap for a more stable build, and to control the use of the back button and to ad admob ads.

The problem im facing is i dont know where to put the js files, image folder and logo. Following the helloworld tut on phonegap i can wotkput that the html file goes in assets/www subfolder on eclipse but from there i am stuck. If anyone could point me in the right directipn it would be much appretiated, and once figured i will write a tutorial tp help others in the future.

    Cheers, MrClifford

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Here is a screenshot of where everything should go.

EDIT: Don't forget to change the phonegap.js to cordova-1.x.x.js in your html file. In the screenshot above I am using cordova-1.7.0rc1.js

  • We do not officially support self-built PhoneGap applications. I would highly recommend using PhoneGap Build and making plugins with the Javascript SDK to customise.

  • simwhi cheers for that will give it a whirl next time im on the laptop

Ashley yeah i understand that you dont support with eclipse fully yet but i only really need to add 2 different functions which wont be to hard in eclipse as the app is only very basic - brilliantly simple. Ive been using andromo but i want a more personal app so construct 2 is the way forward!

  • simwhi The "Don't forget to change the phonegap.js to cordova-1.x.x.js" is the superb assitance. This is what I would never find myself...

Ashley I will be the happiest people if can use the PG Build, but it's uploadable zip file limit is 10Mb, what is very small for a multimedia rich game... <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Ashley wouldn't we need to be doing this through eclipse for images of different android screed densities

    ldpi

    mdpi ...

i dont think fullscreen scale mode would take care of this

  • Hi guys, I have a question regarding perfomance when comparing a game built with Eclipse/Phonegap localy on the one hand and the same game built with CocoonJS on the other hand:

I tried building my game with phonegap and then using eclipse for building localy, because I read that this might improve my game's performance a lot (read here: scirra.com/tutorials/298/performance-tips-for-mobile-games, section "lrn2code"). However, I figured out that the version of my game built with CocoonJS runs really smoothly, while the one I built localy runs with as little as 10 FPS. Do you guys have any ideas why that is and how I could improve performance with a localy built apk???
