  • Hey,

I was wondering if it is possible to do so by making a coloured texture of say, jet black and changing the alpha level to like 60% and putting that on the hud display, would that make a desirable night time overlay?

I wasn't going to use the fog of war effect because of the way my game is but perhaps i could try that but for now is the way to do it from making the texture in a different program and then importing it as a sprite?

or is there a "color overlay" effect already in construct2 ? I could'nt understand from searching the forum alot of old posts that i couldn't make sense out of.

    Thanks for your time

  • It certainly would be the easiest and quickest way to do it, although instead of doing it with a sprite you could make a new layer, set its colour to black, transparent to 'No', and then set it to whatever opacity you want.

  • how about changing the opacity?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Oooooh my gosh, haha, thankyou!

  • This isn't an ideal method as you will notice your game will look very washed out. A better method is to use the 'adjust HSL' layer effect.
