How do I made a random platform terrain?

Hello guys, I'm creating a game "sandbox" as the game "Terraria", however I found no tutorial that teaches how to make a generation of random world like Terraria, someone help me?

The key words for you would be procedural and terrain generation.

If you tried a google search for "Terraria terrain generation algorithm" you would find enough more than enough information to recreate an identical system.

It it is a relatively advanced topic though.
