Its time for me to give something back to the community.
For the people who liked the old "Liero" game and would like to build such a game.
My QuantumBlast example is a great starting point.
Quantum Blast is a real game i am building, and the very early capx is for the community to be shared.
It has everything for grappling and splitscreen platform gaming.
The game is in very early stages of development but you are more than welcome to my dev blog.
If u like what i am doing with this game and have any suggestions then please post them at the dev blog http://iequalspace.nl/wp/quantumblast/
Questions regarding the shared capx u can ask right here ofcourse.
It is not very well doccumented but when u dive a little into the logic i build u wil find it easy.
left right = left right
up down = aim up down
right shoulder button = grappling hook
left shoulder button + up/down = activate grappling up or down
button 2 = jump/double jump/release grappling
when grappling (hanging) left right = swing left/right
Great example!! Thanx for sharing. Good luck with the game!
As we are all (it appears) pointing to this example when others ask about ropes, maybe you should put this in the .capx section of the Tutorials part of the site. That way you'll get loads of rep points
Nice work thanks for sharing
Thanx for the tip —
I followed your advise
You might also want to edit your OP and change the link to the .capx to the link to your tutorial, or you won't generate as much traffic. Every little helps
Looks good so far...
Some nice new grapplinghook features are shown in my new Dev Vlog.
Is it possible to turn off the Split Screen and turn on only the grappling hook? The character gamepad commands with the grappling hook can be exchanged for keyboard commands?
Yes to both LeoSteps
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
But... How can I do this, Savvy001 ? How can I turn off the Split Screen? I clicked on "Toggle disabled" on the Split Screen group, but did not work.
Currently i have no idea, that project is from way back and im busy on a big project.
So consider just erasing all in the project that seems not needed (nit just in the event sheet).
And see what happens.
Eventually u will get there.
OK. Savvy001, my last question: how can I change the gamepad controls, with X and Y axis, to the keyboard controls?
Instead of using the gamepad in the events, ad a keyboard object, then uppon event (specific) key pressed -- > player sprite platformbehavior simulate control.
Something like that
