RowelCaps If your a beginner i wouldn't try implementing 3D things in a 2D engine. But what you could do is have a variable named size then set every tick set paper size to size.
Then you can manipulate the variable and have it set to 90 then have an event that says every tick take away 1 from size but you wouldn't do this until the player has flicked the paper. Personally I would get used to C2 and make a few game prototypes before trying something complicated like this! Good luck in your project! If you need any further help just!
