Hi my name is Omar and I would love to ask a few questions about your amazing and powerful tool Constrct 2.

I have done both tutorials-one by Ashley called Beginners guide to construct 2 and the other by Velojet called Building a platform game- a beginners guide. They worked quite well except with a few bugs which I fixed(the bugs were my mistakes).

I would love to make a game called Doodle Tank.

I will be using Ashley's tutorial but all the graphics and sounds will be mine so am I allowed to do that or not? So is his tutorial copyrighted? The only thing I can think of that he will allow me to use it, is that I will be using MY OWN media.

In the same game I was thinking of making it a survival game but I thought making a multiplayer option would make it stand out. So it is your tank vs the other tank in a maze. And you have 5 lives only and who loses all his lives he loses. Can you do it though?

I thought of making another tank game using levels. There are bosses and higher graphics and all that stuff. But how do you make a level menu which locks the unplayed levels for example you just began playing the game so you are in level 1 and you are not allowed to play other levels until you finish the one before.Another thing is how can it save forever like if it were on mobile you play a few levels and then quit the game and enter it again, the levels will go so you have repeat the game ,how do you make it save after each level?

    Thank you

    Omar Z aka Wreckbot.

  • Hi Wreckbot,

    Welcome to C2.

As both the tutorials you've mentioned are for learning purposes, I'm fairly sure it would be okay for you to use what you've learnt from them, to create your own project (especially if you are using your own media).

With regard to your other question, it would be worth checking out the 'How do I' section. Where you can find information on:

    1. "Multiplayer/Networking"

    2. "Making a title/menu screen"

    3. "Variables (Local/Global/Instances)" - you can use these to store information regarding locked/unlocked levels

    4. "Webstorage" - you can use this to save game data between sessions.

Good luck, I hope that helps to get you started :)
