How do I Export for android.

  • My export options seemed to have changed, I thought before I had the option to export to android, and play store, now when I go to export, android option is not there. What happened?

  • All mobile options are now Taco Bell, or as I call it Cordova.

  • ohh ok, so that will be the same as android export? Thanks. I was wondering what in the world that was

  • Is there a new way? I am still using the Intel XDK to compile the project files

  • Well, I exported it, tried it on my phone, it ran so painfully slow ;_; . I guess this is just going to have to be a webgame, and not an android game T_T. Or do android games run faster when you download from play store, as apposed to just running in browser?

I took out all of the high def backgrounds, and clouds, and it is still painfully slow, even with 55 clouds, and the backgrounds gone it didn't make any difference, still slow

  • What did you export it through? I mean what export option?

Did you use Intel XDK? I'm confused on what you used to test your game.

  • Cordova, then you preview port it to 50000 when on admin mode. and test right in browser of android.

Edit: Actually now that i think about it maybe i did something wrong? because I am previewing it through the port, which has nothing to do with the one i exported. it is just previewing the game the same way I do from construct.

  • used these instructions, or I thought I did, but maybe like I said, maybe I did something wrong.

Edit: ok, I'm dumb, that has nothing to do with exporting, it is a preview.

Would preview be a lot slower than if i exported, and put on my phone correctly?

  • Cordova gives you the files to use with a third party wrapper.

  • Try out the Cocoon.IO. Canvas+ is fast.

Doesn't that mean I need to have a website?

A server perhaps, but that is for fairly advanced games.

Most mobile games require only the third party wrapped package, and a license.

... and a lot of effort.

I'm not sure how to do this, what do I export as to upload it to cocoon?

Are you reading the guide closely? It quite literally says to choose the Cordova export. Hope I don't sound rude, just look at the guide and follow it. Read it step by step. Visit the Cocoon.IO website, that should really help as well.

    Again though, glad you asked.
