How do I download from Google drive back to construct 2

  • So long story short my computer got pretty messed up and I lost the game I was working on but I uploaded it to Google drive the day before. Is there any way for me to download the game from Google drive to the construct engine?

  • Try Construct 3

  • It's not a capx, it's in a Google drive folder

  • It's not a capx, it's in a Google drive folder

You are not explaining clearly enough.

Is it the 'exported' project that is in a folder on your Google drive? If yes, then the link korbaach has given explains why it is impossible to get your project from an export. If it was possible then it would be a massive piracy risk.

If not, is it a backup of your project in the folder? If so, why can't you just transfer the whole folder back to your PC?

  • Yes it is exported, I exported the project onto google drive for testing purposes

  • Yes it is exported, I exported the project onto google drive for testing purposes

Then as has already been explained, it is impossible to recover a project from the exported project.

Have you got the autosave and backup options setup?

If so, there should be the .autosave and .backup files in your original project folder. You would just need to rename them as something like 'mygame.capx' and you should be able to open them in C2.

See the following section of the manual that covers the autosave and backup options in Preferences.

  • unfortunately my account was deleted so construct 2 and all my saved programs and files are gone so I doubt that. I'll just have to start over again
